If you want to read a really good autobiography of an amazing life, check out John Morearty's (my dad's) newly published
memoirs of a peace activist,
Walking to Omega: Tales of a Peacenik Carpenter (415 pages). It's the
wonderfully written story of, in his words, "a life shattered in the middle
and rebuilt. A journey from professor of philosophy to woodworker/building contractor
to peace activist, TV talk show producer/host, and community journalist/community
organizer."
It goes from Milwaukee to Chicago to India to California's Central Valley.
